Its Sponge Bob's birthday, and he gets a new jellyfishing net, triple-head spatula additions, Big Bub Brand's Brand-New Bubble Soap, Snail Food, and a video game console. When he doesn't know what to do with it, he looks at its manual, and he hooks it up to his TV. He then puts in the game that came with it, and he becomes enthralled with it. A window shows the sun setting and the moon coming out, then the moon setting and the sun coming out, then the sun setting again and the moon coming out, and the moon setting again and the sun coming out. When Sponge Bob gets a phone call, he asks Gary to answer. Gar answers, and its Mr. Krabs yelling at Sponge Bob for being late to work. Gary hangs up in the middle of it. We cut to the Krusty Krab, where he asks Squidward to go get Sponge Bob. Squidward says no, so he makes Patrick do it, even though he doesn't work there. Patrick happily skips out of the Krusty Krab and to Sponge Bob's house.
We cut to Patrick coming into Sponge Bob's house, seeing what has become of him. Sponge Bob asks Patrick to join, and he does, but he says only for a few minutes. We see from out the window the sun setting and the moon coming out, then the moon setting and the moon coming out. When they defeat the final boss, they wonder what they should do. the phone then rings, and Sponge Bob answers, and Mr. Krabs says he's late to work again. Sponge Bob tells him about the game, and Mr. Krabs says that he should play them sparingly, so he has time for work and his friends.
We cut to the Krusty Krab, where Mr. Krabs says it's closing time, so Squidward and Sponge Bob leave. Sponge Bob says it was a busy day, but Squidward does not respond. They go into their houses, where Sponge Bob feeds Gary, eats his own food, washes the dishes, plays video games, then goes to bed.
