Instrumental Trouble is the third episode in SpongeBob SquarePants: Trouble. This episode is a musical episode. In this episode, Squidward's clarinet breaks and he tries to find a new instrument.

Plot

Squidward is playing his clarinet, but a loud thumping noise is heard. Squidward angrily looks at SpongeBob and Patrick who are throwing hefty boulders. SpongeBob and Patrick are singing about "boulder throw.". Squidward continues playing his clarinet but Patrick throws a ginormous boulder and it hits and destroys Squidward's house. Squidward yells at SpongeBob and Patrick for the destruction of his house until he sees his clarinet. It is snaps in half. Squidward bellows at SpongeBob and Patrick. Squidward then sings a sing about how he hates SpongeBob and Patrick.

Squidward goes into town and goes to find a clarinet. He goes in a shop but the clarinets are fresh out. Squidward finds a glockenspiel but it breaks when testing it and the shop-keeper kicks Squidward out. He remembers his trumpet he bought a couple of years. Salvaging through the rubble of his house. He finds the trumpet and plays at the Steamer Tower but the amount of steam in the building rusts Squidward's trumpet. He then sings a song about his hunt for a clarinet but everyone in the building dismisses Squidward and throw him out. SpongeBob and Patrick are building forts from the rubble of Squidward's house when Squidward appears and scowls at the two. SpongeBob feel sorry for Squidward and go to Ukelele Bottom and finds a clarinet at a music shop and gives it to Squidward. Squidward happily says thank you but then angrily chases SpongeBob and Patrick for destroying his house.
